Original Book of Mormon
The Book of Mormon: Selections Annotated & Explained The Book of Mormon stands alongside the Bible as the foundational sacred text of Mormonism, one of the world's youngest yet fastest-growing religions. Translated by the prophet Joseph Smith from ancient writings inscribed on golden plates, the Book of Mormon is an account of people living on the American continents in a timeline that parallels that of the Bible. The text covers a thousand years of loss, discovery, war, peace, and spiritual principles that focus on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jana Riess's accurate and understandable account of the history and context in which the Book of Mormon was written, as well as her presentation of the central teachings of the text, dispel many of the misconceptions caused by the controversy that has surrounded it since its original publication in 1830. Riess's insightful yet unobtrusive commentary makes the Book of Mormon accessible to all readers, regardless of religious background.
Digging in Cumorah: Reclaiming Book of Mormon Narrative by Mark D. Thomas, Despite being the founding scripture of a prominent religion, the Book of Mormon has escaped the attention of world scholars. Why is this? Thomas asks. To date, most research, conducted almost exclusively by Latter-day Saints, has been aimed at reconstructing the book's historical origins rather than at interpreting its message. In a sense, this begs readers to take the book seriously. Thomas wants to see prejudice, on the one hand, and over-reverence, on the other, set aside, to see people approach the Book of Mormon on its own terms. He follows the current direction in biblical studies. In determining the intent of a passage, he considers narrative patterns and literary forms. He does so both sensitively and honestly. He says he writes for the non-believer as well as for believers -- for "seekers of a lost world and for those who seek a new one -- those who may have misplaced their world somewhere along the way".
Ether (Book of Mormon) - In the Book of Mormon, Ether (BoM Arabic اثير Aṯīr) is one of the last surviving Jaredites, and is believed by Latter-day Saint theology to be the author of the original Book of Ether. Book of Commandments - The Book of Commandments is among the most rare and valuable books in American history because the original printing was almost entirely destroyed by a mob. The book holds special significance for groups in the Latter Day Saint movement (such as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; see also "Mormon"). Book of Mormon (Mormon's record) - The Book of Mormon is the name of a book, or division, in the larger Book of Mormon. This book has been divided into nine chapters. Archaeology and the Book of Mormon - Supporters and critics alike have long attempted to use archaeology to support their respective views of the origin(s) of the Book of Mormon. Although the Book of Mormon is considered an inspired sacred text by the entire Latter Day Saint movement, not all Latter Day Saint scholars, or Latter Day Saints, accept the view that the Book of Mormon is an actual history of any Native American people.

Roberts's path-breaking work has been judged by editor Brigham D. Madsen to be methodologically sound and as relevant today as when it was Roberts's proclivity to go wherever the evidence took him -- in this case to anticipate and defend against potential future problems but also to discover for himself the truth of the New Testament (see Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from other Jesus-based churches originated later in the life and activities of its founder.
